How to Reach Chalakudy

By Road: Chalakudy is connected through roads to major cities of Kerala. It is on the NH 544 highway, and it is about 33 km from Thrissur and 47 km from Kochi. Private cars, taxis, and buses are available through Chalakudy on a regular basis. So, road travel makes it easy to reach Chalakudy. Warm Season (March to May): The rise of temperatures is up to about 35°C in the daytime, but one may still find comfort in its morning and evening hours. Such visitors can enjoy their sightseeing cultural tours during this season in addition to having refreshing breeze at times.

Rainy season (June to September): The monsoon brings a lot of rain, so the waterfalls look more beautiful with the land being green and full of life. This is a good time for taking photographs since the scenery will look its best, but it’s not great for outdoor activities because the ground will be slippery.

  1. Visit Athirappilly Waterfalls

Athirappilly Waterfalls is called the “Niagara of India.” It is the most popular place to see near Chalakudy. The water falls from 80 feet high, making it a beautiful sight. People can walk to the bottom for a better look or enjoy the pretty scenery around. 

  1. Go to Vazhachal Waterfalls.

Just a few miles away from Athirappilly is the Vazhachal Waterfalls, which also cannot be avoided. With its surrounding dense forests, the waterfall is not very dramatic but very beautiful and quiet and an ideal location for a picnic.

Chalakudy River flows majestically in the town. One can even boat there or spend a relaxed day at the riverside. Calm waters with verdant banks make the destination an ideal one for de-stressing and a sense of calm.
