By Air:

The closest airport to Idukki is at Cochin which will take one hundred (100) Kilometers to get there. If you are landed at any of these places you can take a taxi or bus direct to Idukki. Best Time to Visit Idukki

1.    Winter (October to February):

One should visit Idukki in the winter since the climate during this period is fairly mild. The climate of between 10°C and 25°C is ideal for enjoying the greenery of Idukki, Nature walks and treks through the hills, and the quiet of the Hills stations. Due to the clear skies, the area is best suited for photography and to admire stunning views.

2.    Summer (March to June)

Summer in Idukki is not as hot as one might imagine, the temperatures may rise to as high as 30 degrees but the altitude guarantees a reasonably tolerable heat. It is a good time to visit the waterfalls, tea gardens, and the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s best to engage in outdoor activities in the early morning and in the evening.
