If Kerala’s water bodies define its charm, then Kumarakom and Alleppey are its crown jewels. With serene backwaters, lush greenery, exotic wildlife, and houseboat cruises, this tour takes you into the heart of Kerala’s natural beauty. While Kumarakom’s tranquil village life offers bird sanctuaries, pristine lakes, and lush islands, Alleppey’s lively canals and golden beaches add a different dimension to the backwater experience. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or cultural discovery, this 3-night, 4-day tour guarantees a peaceful escape into Kerala’s most enchanting landscapes.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival & Exploring Kumarakom’s Natural Wonders

Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, our executive will greet you and take you on a 1.5-hour scenic drive to Kumarakom, a tranquil village nestled along Vembanad Lake.
After checking into your resort and freshening up, embark on a serene houseboat ride through Vembanad Lake, Kerala’s largest and most scenic lake. As you glide through the backwaters, witness local fishermen, lush coconut groves, and flocks of ducks wading in the water. Enjoy a traditional Kerala-style meal onboard, freshly prepared using local flavors.

In the afternoon, head to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a paradise for bird watchers, where you can spot exotic species like herons, egrets, and kingfishers, along with migratory birds like Siberian cranes.
Wrap up your day with a visit to Kumarakom Beach, where you can choose between relaxing by the shore or indulging in water sports like parasailing and jet skiing. Watching the sunset over the Arabian Sea makes for the perfect ending to your first day.

Day 2Unique Museums & Enchanting Islands

After breakfast, visit the Bay Island Driftwood Museum, which showcases an incredible collection of driftwood sculptures and artworks shaped by nature and expert craftsmanship.
Next, take a boat ride to Pathiramanal Island, a hidden paradise filled with diverse flora and fauna. This uninhabited island is a haven for nature lovers, with long, winding trails leading through lush greenery. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the untouched wilderness before heading back to your resort for a peaceful evening.

Day 3Alleppey – The Venice of the East

After breakfast, take a short 1-hour drive to Alleppey, a town famous for its intricate network of canals and backwaters.
Begin with a visit to Kuttanad, also known as the “Rice Bowl of Kerala”, where you can see endless stretches of paddy fields below sea level—a fascinating feature of Kerala’s agricultural landscape.
Embark on another houseboat cruise, this time through Alleppey’s vibrant backwaters and Vembanad Lake, where you can witness floating villages and life along the waterways.
For some quiet relaxation, head to Alleppey Beach, where golden sands and the historic pier create a perfect coastal retreat.
End your day with a visit to Alleppey’s historic churches and temples, including Karumadikkuttan, a mystical black granite Buddha statue, offering insight into Kerala’s Buddhist history.

Day 4: KeralaLeisure & Departure

Enjoy a relaxed morning, sipping on freshly brewed Kerala tea while soaking in the peaceful backwater views. After breakfast, check out from your hotel, and our executive will escort you back to Kochi for your departure. As you leave, the beauty of Kumarakom and Alleppey’s backwaters, wildlife, and cultural heritage will remain etched in your heart forever.
